Library Week 2008 – What’s Your Story? Nou te kōrero

Library Week 2008 (18 - 24 August) has been running for over 35 years and is a week long celebration of libraries. This year’s theme “What’s Your Story? Nou te kōrero” aims to highlight the individual reasons why people use libraries - be it to hire a DVD, surf the Internet or get involved in a community project.
To celebrate Library Week ‘08 we are launching this blog. Make a comment, tell us what you think or why you use the HHS Library and be in to win. We have plenty of prizes up for grabs,
books,
movies passes,
chocolate
& one ipod shuffle.
Comment now and be in to win. (Only comments following our “code of conduct” will be posted.)
Prizes will be drawn during September - NZ Book Month.
Ms H

Jacqueline Wilson has a great rage of books. my favourite is "Best Friends" and "Candyfloss". She also wrote a book about herself "Jacky Daydream".

I always go to the library because it's a very good place to study and there are lots of books for us to read. I realised that the library has purchased some new books which are very good including a biography of Johnny Depp!!! I think that it would be good for the library to purchase more books on Disney cartoons. (i actually found one last week, me and my friends just loved it)

I like our library because of the books and dvds that we have, as well as the computers and especially the upstairs study area!
And its really great that we keep on having lots of new books!

Hello all
I use the library for many different reasons
Be it to read and issue out books, hire out DVDs, use the computers, help out in the office, or just to hang out with my friends!
The library and all its staff (including the student librarians!) are the best!

I use the library to study and read books. but movies are a good supplement to all the books i go through, i recommend "V For Vendetta" it is possibly one of the best movies i have ever see. Like Betty Z i also like using the computers in the library and now you can come on the blog from there. Who else listens to the audio books? and for all those with Q's ask Miss H or address the librarians and I'm positive that they will respond.

The Hillcrest High School Library is like a home.

A home for those who are blessed with the ability to read.

A home for those who didn't catch that movie years ago and are too poor to use Video Ezy or United Video.

A home for those who live in a box and like to take advantage of the heating facilities.

A home for those who have discovered the joys of computers in a well-lit, heart warming environment.

A home for the seniors. We can go upstairs so we will go upstairs.

A home for the juniors. Ground floor is nice too.

A home for all comic fanatics, magazine browsers, novel maniacs and non-fiction utilisers.

A home for people who just like the couches.

A home for people who do and don't know how to use the photocopier.

A home for people of all ages, sizes, motives and loudnesses...

We love the library,
Let's celebrate the library,

I can spell L-I-B-R-A-R-Y!

Really need to study (ooh magazines!)
Anti-harrassment banner... is big.
Really really need to study (ooh dvds and a TV!)
Yes that is a whiteboard covered in news articles of people at our school: we make headlines. In a good way.

Thank you for reading.
